I've run synthetics in my boat since the completion of the powerhead breakin. My grand old lady has a total of 99.8 hours on it. That isn't much of a test to be real honest. But I can tell you my spark plugs are still really clean.
You aren't going to see any noticeable improvement in performance. This stuff is not magic elixir. It's just a lubricant, but a darned good one.
If you read the literature available on the Net, the posts on this board and others, and various magazines what you'll discover is the synthetics are generally better lubricants and all things being equal this means you will get more hours out of your motor. I've also read they burn a little cleaner meaning you dump less mess in the water.
Some guys will tell you there's less smoke. I'd guess that's true. Seems that way to me too and every guy I've ever talked to will tell you the same thing. Are there realistic tests to prove this? I doubt it.
I've heard some guys say that they can turn higher RPM's with synthetics. I don't know if I buy that. Are you willing to bet your
motor on that? Not me. My manual says 5,800 rpm's and that's all I'll turn it.
I've never heard of a dissatisfied Amsoil user. Haven't used it myself but I watch this and another board religiously. Read a lot of magazine articles. I'd not bat an eyelash at using it in my boat.
I use synthetics because I believe they'll help my motor last longer and need a little less maintenance. I use biodegradable synthetics because they're better for the environment. I am never happier, or more at peace than when I get into my boat and go out on the water. I want my grandaughters and students to experience this. This is the best I can leave them. And it's definitely worth the extra bucks.

I'm not only a dealer, I'm a user and a believer. I use Amsoil in my wife's car, in my F250 Diesel P/up (engine, trans, front and rear differentials), in my boat, (2-stroke main & 4stroke kicker). I feel it does improve performance, the 2-stroke does smoke less, doesn't foul plugs, starts easier. Of course, in my case, I've got one of the lousiest running 150 Mercs ever made! Amsoil does help it somewhat, I'm sure it would run worst without it.
The big plus with Amsoil is, it is 100% synthetic. There are no petroleum products used whatsoever!
Try my web site for more info: www.ohiosynthetics.com
Amsoil also has a preferred customer buying program, so you can enjoy wholesale prices for all their products.
Thanks for listening, believe me, this stuff really works.
