Does anyone have one of these devices that is supposed to center the trailer hitch on the ball? It has a "v" piece of metal that the trailer hitch hits to position above the ball. Does it work?

Thanks

Just got mine in the mail today. Actually, it's a gift for my father in law. He was looking for an easier way to hook up without getting in & out so much. I can let you know later on how it works.
I did a search for it on the web & found their homepage. Had some good info there. The metal is plenty heavy, so it should stand up.

Take care,

Brad

I have one and yes, it works very well. Been using it the last year or so. Very much worth the money.

Thanks guys,

I have rented a very narrow garage (for the width of the trailer). The best way I have found to get the boat in is by using the hitch that I installed on the front of my truck. Unfortunately, the drive is gravel and the roller allows very little manual positioning of the trailer, so this looks like it might be the answer. Right now it takes a lot of in and out of the truck to get the hitch attached. I assume the device pushes the tongue onto the ball.

I also checked out an electric dolly, would have to be battery operated, was told by the rep that it would not be powerful enough to do the job.

Thanks again

Bill, one more thing. When you park the trailer block in front and in back of the tires. That way when you hich it up next time it won't role backwards on you.

Craig,

Thanks for the tips. One more thing I forgot to mention - I have surge brakes with a sliding hitch. Do you see any problem?

Thanks again,

Can't help you there. I don't know anything about surge brakes.

I bought a speed hitch a couple years ago that worked pretty good.

It extends 15" by releasing a pin and swivels 180 Degs by releasing another, get the coupler on it and pull foreward to lock it straight then back up to retract and lock in place and you're off.

Only problem I had was self inflicted by not lubing the sh@@ out of all the moving parts and it rusted up on me.

Cost about $100.00 at Pep Boys.

I have one and it works great. No more dents in bumper. I have a pretty heavy boat and it lines right up.
