I am headed into the windy city Sunday for a conference. Thought I might be able to slip into the browse mode for tackle. Any recommendations? I am staying at the doubletree across from Handcock tower, where ever that is....

Looking for plugs that I can't find out on the west coast.

There is only one good tackle shop near the loop an that is Henry's. Henry's Sport and Bait- Located near Burnham Harbor and McCormick Place. For shore line fishing information and equipment rental call 312-225-8538. If you have the time and a car, you can go out to Gurnee (1 hr & 20 minutes from your hotel). You can easily spend a day in this place. The other is Gander Mountain in Wilmont Wisconsin just across the line.

Now I noticed your smart remark about having all those walleyes out west and nobody fishing for them. Yes, that makes me jealeous. However, you owe it to yourself to get a group of 4 to 6 people together and charter a boat to go after our salmon and steelhead. You can catch more in one day here than you are allowed all year in Washington.

Chicago Sport Fishing Association-Call 312-922-1100 for charter boat information.

Shoot me an email if you have questions.
