I would fish between Dakota Waters to the west. Right now the fishing has been good west of Dakota Waters in the Beaver Bay area and also on the north side. Using bottom bouncers and the night crawlers are starting to be the answer. Would not exclude leeches. The PWT is prefishing at this time and the tournament starts Wednesday. I would monitor their success as they are able to go as far as Deepwater Bay I believe. My opinion only and that is, that the lake is behind a couple of weeks because of the weather and by the 4th the area west of Indian Hills toward the Beacon should start to heat up and some areas on the south shore west of Indian Hills. Follow the PWT and see what their success is. Another area that should start to heat up would be the slides north of Saddle Butte and south of Independence Point.
Good Luck.

I was on the lake yesterday and natural is correct. Leeches with a white glow in the dark bead ahead of the hook on a lindy rig (3/8 ounce sinker)did the trick for me. However I did hear another guy in a boat talking to another guy in another boat, both of them near me and they had some success with minnows(I did not) and one old grumpy guy stated "I gotta leech on and haven't had a bite all day." I caught three walleye within 10 minutes not far from him. Sometimes life is a chuckle out there!! But it was somewhat slow(other than that 10 minute spurt). I was on the water by 8:30 and had a limit by 10:05. Had two leeches left so kept fishing till they were gone. Missed a good head shaker and released another 16". Biggest fish I saw netted while I was in the area of Centennial park was about a 19-20" eye. Mine were all fat, husky 16-17 inchers, one almost looking like a female it was so fat. These fish are in good shape and look well fed, keep that in mind when you get here. Oh I had the pinpoint locked on to 15.2' contour and found that depth to be the best this particular day.
I'll be fishing the PWT as an amatuer this wed - friday. I agree with the above post about following the PWT. Alot of information will be divulged about Sakakawea after that one is all over; either here or on fishingbuddy.com a local web site out of Bismarck.
