I am currently looking at a couple of used 2000 model year Warriors. I went back in time looking at archived threads pertaining to Warrior and the warranty they carry. In 2000 there seem to have beem some owners(and friends of friends...) that were very displeased with warranty work either being denied, blammed on the owner, or just plain ignored. Having fished out of a Warrior before, and just looking at the overall fit and finish, they seem to be put together pretty good.

Guess I'm just trying to find out if the owners of these boats are: 1. pleased overall 2. if you had warranty issues, were they taken care of in a timely fashion 3. Is the warranty transferrable 4. Would you buy another Warrior in the future?

Thanks,
Boiled

Own a 2000 Warrior 17ft SC no problems with mine and my understanding is that the warranty is transferable. I have seen the posts you have talked about but I would call Warrior and listen to what they have to say as well as the posts. I have to sell mine as I am fishing the RCL so if want any more information email me. Good luck

I have a V1891DC that has been back to the factory two times now. It was like pulling teeth to get Tom to even look at it. They finally agreed after I talk to Pete Harsh and my dealer. The work they did on it at the factory stinks, I could have done better with a brush. The problem with the boat is, it has a crazing problem. Now Iam considering legal action. So would I buy another Warrior. NO

Hhhmmmmmm.... maybe I'm paranoid, but this sounds a bit suspicious... like someone trying to rehash old troubles?

If you are legitimate, any cosmetic troubles would have already surfaced after 3 years. So, if the boat looks good, you have no worries. Trust your own judgement.

I run a hard-fished '95 Warrior which still looks great, is rock solid and a pleasure to operate. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Since I am seriously looking to buy a Warrior, I am trying to get honest answers to my questions. When I was reading the old threads, I was dumb founded with how livid some guys got.

I work hard to play hard, so I just wanted to get some opinions from real owners. In the end, I am 95% sure I'll end put putting a Warrior on the water this spring.

Boiled,

send me an email as I have been looking & pricing used warriors the past month or so. I have decided on one now, but maybe I can give you some leads on others.

As for warranty transfer, as long as the boat is 3 yrs. or less, you can buy a (2nd owner) warranty for $300, payable to warrior. This just covers the original 21 year hull warranty. The remaining 3 year topside warranty is transfered. I hope I got this right, if not, maybe Troy will see this & clarify.

Take care,

Brad

Boiled: I owned a V-177, ran it for three yaers. A very comfortable boat with nice lines. I never had any major problems, some slight crazing in the corners. That said, my boat had a wood floor and wood stringers and a wood in the transom which I did not like. Additionally, the fit and finish when compared to other glass boats was mediocre. I encourage you to look at a Tuffy or Ranger for your next glass boat.

1998 Warrior. No problems with boat. I had a tire wear problem when I first had it, but they put a new axle on with new tirs and rims. I would buy another for sure.

I had a 95 V190 which I had no problems with until the time I sold it in 2000. The new owner still has it. My next boat will again be a Warrior if I can find one used. Not willing to spend the kind of money they want for any new boat.

I have a '93 warrior 1890 eagle and I couldn't imagine fishing out of anything else. I have had a few questions about some of the electrical aspects and Troy from the factory was more than helpful. I wouldn't recommend buying anything but a Warrior, you won't be dissapointed! BTY, I have no affiliation with the company at all.

I own a 1992 warrior python. 17.5 ft tiller. It has some crazing in the corners. I call them spider cracks. But the boat is still in great shape and it has been fished pretty hard at Erie, bay De Noc, lLke Michigan, and Sturgeon Bay. No it is not as pretty as a Ranger but it is one strong boat. The transom was twice as thick as my Yar Craft tiller and that was a good boat also.
You have to decide what you like best it's your money but have fun doing it.

Wayne, what might you have the pleasure of owning? Tell us it's a Bayliner or Bass Tracker and how it is a better walleye boat than a Warrior . . . come on enlighten us! I'm sure the poster is looking for more info than "just run".

I owned a Warrior for 4 years, just a 16 ft tiller, awesome boat handled the water well for a small craft. Although I didn't buy another I wouldn't hesitate on buying one in the future. However, I do think Warrior is over pricing their product in the market, almost Ranger price range, and in my estimation not quite at Ranger quality level.

I have a 97 1790dc since it was new , It runs evey weekend that is ice free 2 to three days a week on Gull , Millacs or leech,I run a v6 efi 150 on it and have had no , "no" problems with the Boat , a rock hit the windshield while towing the factory was great in getting me a exact replacement. I am currently thinking of selling the boat inorder to purchase a new "Warrior" the warrantee has not been an issue because I have had no problems with the Boat , the trailer axle was reset by the factory to correct a sway problem when the rig was new once again no problems with the factory or the excellent services.Ther e you go an long time owner just the facts.

I had a 1997 177SC and had no trouble with it all until a huge tree fell on in it during a storm, crunch!! I went right to Fort Freemont Marine and bought a 1999 2090SC which was left over in 2000. I love the boat, had some minor problems with the windshield and with a few bucks and a little time we put on the new 2002 windshield and it is great. I think that it is unrealistic for anyone who runs their boat more then a little to expect that the factory is going to fix every little thing. The reason I bought a glass boat in the first place was because I knew no matter what, I could get it fixed. There are a lot of great boats out there each with its own features and benifits. I like Warrior, as far as fishablity and ride it’s the boat for me. As I said I am now on my second Warrior and as it stands now I can’t image going with any other brand.
