I will be staying at a resort on Lake Andrusia in No. Minnesota soon and have a question for anyone familiar with the lake. The map shows that there is an access from Andrusia to Allen's Bay (on Cass Lake)...is this a navigable access to get to Cass or will it be best to trailer the boat to a public access to get on Cass? Any assistance will be appreciated.

I'm not too sure about your question regarding the access but I do know that you are staying on a great. Enjoy and please let us know how the fishing was.

I know canoes run that stretch a lot, but I think there might be a spill way as the Mississippi enters into Cass. Your best bet would be to contact the resort you are staying with and ask them.

There are several small pools between Andrusia and Cass that are good smallie and northern fishing.

All navigable. The river averages about 8 feet deep through the channel. It snakes and winds for perhaps a mile and a half, maybe two miles between the two lakes, and it's all no-wake zone, and it's all quiet and pretty. Except when it's the crack of dawn and you can't wait to get over to Cass and hang a big walleye or two before the other boats come out. :-) Allen's Bay has some awesome structure--try the edges of the reefs on the north sides of the Potato Islands--great for big fish.

Same scenario the other way, toward Wolf and Little Wolf. Great perch fishing in that direction. Have fun!!!

Medic654;
I have driven my 1800 Pro-V from Cass into Andrusia and back several times, tilt your motor up and you will not have any problems. If you decide to return in the dark, a good, hi-powered spot light is a great help.

Good luck,

Just got back from Cass Lake the lake is very high so you should not have any trouble getting to and from Cass from Andrusia.
try Buck bar had some luck there for waleye and perch at the drop out front entrance to Buck Lake. Good luck and good weather

Was up in Cass lake in May, the lake was up a bit from last year
and I made the trip from Cass, No problem at all. I have a 18 ft
crestliner and it was a breeze. Take your time it is a "no wake"
zone. Just a tip, Take the long way around the curve with the riprap, its deeper water than taking the short cut. ie. follow
the rocks...
