I'm looking to go walleye fishing in Northern Wisconsin in mid to late July.
Is this a bad time to go?
I know June is a great time but my schedule won't allow for it.
thanx

Hi Moose
The walleyes hit hard here in the Wisconsin River in the Dells.
You can usually pick them up by casting jigs and twister tails along curretn breaks or trolling #5 to #7 Shad raps in clown, fire tiger or shad.
You can also use crawlers usually only a 1/4 of one on a jig and drift or sit in current with Northland spinners in a size 1 or 2.
All of these fish will be in 1ft to 8ft of water.
good luck

Walls in July can be great although you make have to work for them. Try this. Find weed beds in 10-12' of water. Rig up a leech on a slip bobber and hold the leech just above the weeds. Walls at this time of the year are less agressive and will "suck" in the leech without biting and may even stroll away with it still in their mouth. Your float will go under but be patient and give it a little time. Open you bail, let line out and after some time reel up the slack and set the hook. Even so, if the fishing is slow at least you are still in northern Wisconsin. Good fishing!!!!!!! :D
