I have a Pro V 1775 and I am looking to buy an on board charger. I have some confusion as to if i need a 3 bank or 2 bank charger. I am running 2 batteries for my trolling motors (24 volt) at the front and a single 12 Volt battery at the rear (Main battery).

So do I need a 3 bank or a 2 bank charger to charge all 3 batteries (the concern I have is on the batteries running the 24 volt system) do they get charged up individually or as a pair? because that should determine if I need a 3 or 2 bank.

Thanks

Three bank charger. Every bank is for one battery each.

Will I have to disconnect the jumper cable between the 2 batteries? Will the batteries not short out if I do not?

Darren,

Get as many banks as you have batteries. If you have high end electronics (usually require direct wiring to the battery (NOT THE FUSE BUS) from the mfg), I would consider an accessories battery for your electronics.

I had a lot of problems until I switched over my electronics to a spare battery.

Guest makes a 4 bank charger to charge all four (cranker, acc, 2 trolling).

You do not need to disconnect the jumper when you are charging.

Good luck,
