I have had great luck with Batteries Plus series 31 no maintainace deep cycle batteries. They run about $80. each and have lasted longer than any I have owned, and I have owned a bunch.

Just bought mine at Walmart (EverTroll). Series 27/105 amp-hour for $54. I heard Sams has them for $50 but I am not a member there. I have had EverTrolls before and have had good luck with them. Besides if there is a problem with them there is usually a Walmart "just around the corner".

Well....good batteries.... I bought a Trojan SCS225 last year, and so far so good. I only had 12 volt, so I was looking for the most reserve capacity and amps. This one lasted the longest between charges that I've owned yet. As for longevity and problems, I can't answer yet, one year isn't much to go on. Price? I paid $85 for it. Not the cheapest, but not gel cell/AGM pricey. Look at reserve capacity and amp hours (not cranking amps), the higher, the better. Chris

I have not tried my new batteries yet but I bought an auto-pilot like yourself and found new batteries at sam's club that are 31 series stowaway brand by exide (sp) they have an 36 month warranty that is not pro-rated until the second 18 month's.Any thing not right the first 18 month's and they will give you a new battery. They were only 65.00 each.Could not pass up that deal.215 amp hours each.
