View Full Version : mille lacs guide
I know this post is not walleye related, but does
anyone know of a good Mille Lacs guide who would
do a combination muskie-smallmouth trip?
Try White Pine Guide service, Mark Harlow. email address mark@whitepinegraphics.com....I met him a few years ago, when I was up at Mill Lacs fishing and staying at the Red Door lodge. He knows his stuff when it comes to Muskie.

Steve Scepaniak is your man. He's excellent on muskies on Mille Lacs, and does walleyes and smallies too. 320-253-7535. He's very good.

Dylan Bentley is your man for smallies. No question. When Jimmy Huston went to Mille Lacs to fish smallies, he fished with Dylan. Give him a call at Eddy's resort 1-800-657-4704.
For muskies, you can call Dylan's dad Dave Bentley, or you could call me. Don't mean to toot my own horn though.
I talked to Mark Harlow today and he's swamped at work for a few months.
If you compromise and pick someone who will do the dual trip, you risk compromising your trip.

Dylan is a smallmouth catching machine! I was fishing next to him one day while fishing for crappies, and watched him pull in one smallie after the other. It seemed like he had a fish on every cast. On one occasion he came over and handed us a camera and asked if we would take his picture for him....it sure was a beauty!!
I got to meet both Dylan and his Dad Dave the last time up to Mille Lacs, and I can say that if you fish with either of them, your going to have a really good time on the water. Both are super people!
Just thought I would throw that out there...;-)
Have a good day!

I could not agree more about Dylan and Dave, most people know that Dave is a musky machine but it's nice to see Dylan get the credit he deserves. With names like the Bently's, Grampa Joe, and Harlow on this post you have a who's who of Mille Lacs, pick one and you can't go wrong. Have a blast and good luck. Matt
