I'm just wondering if anyone out there knows anything about Nissan Outboards. I have a 1998 40 hp tiller. I would like to know what Nissan's reputation is like. Mine has worked well. Thanks!

your's a 2 stroke or 4.??
I had a 9.9 2 cycle some time ago and that motor worked fine, never had any problems and would start on the first pull every time.

I have a 1989 Nissan 40 HP on my pontoon its seen lots of use and has never let me down.

This is my 3rd season with a 18hp Nissan and I love it starts easy runs great, I put a lot of hours on this motor and she runs like it just came out of the box, And now there is a dealer in my area and I live in the sticks so to speak
Thanks for the comments so far. I was nervous when I first bought my boat with this motor but it gave me a good 16' Tracker boat with a dependable motor at a price I could afford. Yeah, someday I would like a Lund with a Honda motor but for now this works great
