I'm going to be installing a Co-pilot for a friend of mine up at his lake home this weekend. What tools should I plan on bringing for this installation, besides the perverbial hammer?!? I'm SURE I'm going to need a drill :)
Just a philips screwdiver. Will take you about 3 minutes total.

1. Phillips screwdriver (medium)
2. 6 pack of beer (premium)
Directions: Open beer. Unscrew 2 phillips screws om right side of unit. Leave cover on. Sip beer. install copilot on unit using longer screws provided. Sip beer. Plug co-pilot in. Test.
Drink rest of beer watching co-pilot work in amazement.
Thata how I did it anyway!

Don't forget to program the transmitter bfore you test it or else 1 six pack won't be enough.

Thanks for the info, guys!
Are you sure it only entails a 6 pack?!? Programming the transmitter sounds serious!!

The transmitter comes programmed.
If you get the second one, that will have to be programmed.
And Fatboys case was special. His cat kept getting in the way trying to help. so it took about 8 beers to get his done.

Actually, I had to do a little more work. My connectors didn't mate well so I had to trim some of the plastic on them down so they fit tighter together. Still simple enough if you had a couple of beers spare for emergency purposes.

Good thing I opened this thread. I wouldn't have had all the correct tools for my installation. LOL

Is it tough to program that 2nd transmitter? I don't want to dig out the directions yet -- I will get antsy and want to take the boat out. I can't take it out because I have family "events" this weekend ... so it is better that I leave everything alone for another week yet.
But, seeing as I have ordered and received the second transmitter as part of the $5 offer or whatever it was, I am curious about programming it.
Push little white white button on reciever, and hit any button on transmitter. You will hear a chirp. Done!
