Has anyone used the rod buckle that Bass Pro sells? (Page 79 in Platinum Edition) It looks like a good way to keep rods in place while running. I've used velcro in the past but this retractable deal looks promising. Any comments would be greatly apreciated. Thanks, Swede

Swede,
That's what I have on my boat. I really like them. They buckle/unbuckle easily, yet won't come undone by themselves. They also retract nicely into the gunwale. Coated strap seems to be pretty hook proof. It looks like there are 2 models. The second type is a surface mount...no holes to cut in the boat.

I've looked at those as well. What boat do you have them mounted on? I would be looking at the Explorer 1675 tiller and thought this should work great.
Thanks,

Indiana Marine makes this product and yes they do work very well. They are sold through a number of different outlets.
Good Fishing To All!!!:)
Swede, These are made by IMCO. There are several boat builders that use them as OEM. They have several models availible. They mount on the surface, in the gunnel, below the suface or gunnel, and they have a remote mount kit. The remote kit places the the rectangle box below/behind the surface that you are mounting to. It has a smaller surface plate that is about half the size of the rectangle box that you see with the normal kit.
I am looking at mounting one of these in my bow to hold the net flush to the deck while running. I contacted the manufacture to find out about the flush kit.
From what I see they are of very good quality. Looks like we were thinking the same thing again!
