View Full Version : was i out of line?
i called casey's in chamberlain sd (the gas station) to find out if they carried no-alcohol gasoline and ask the price. the lady who answered was very rude and hung up on me with out giving any info. in fact all she said was NO!! and hung up. Is it taboo to call a gas station and ask this type of info? was I out of line?

IMHO, no you were not..But, I have had service station folks get their colons kinked by me asking about the MTBE (I think that's what it's called) additive that I realy don't like..One guy got irrate and said it made no difference and to put it in the boat and don't worry about it..He really got steamed when I asked him if he would like to buy my Mariner when it blew up due to the dry condition of that fuel..
I live in Iowa where they grow lots of corn, but still don't use gasahol in ANY of my 2 strokes..And one of the things that has always irked me is the state of Iowa is trying to promote the use of gasahol as the answer to our fuel consumption woes, but yet only reduces the tax by 1 cent per gallon over regular unleaded gasoline..Looks to me as they are not thumping their own drum very loudly..

By no means that gas could determine whether or not you make it home nobody walks on water. Classic auto did a show with Jay Leno and all his classics, he stated 10 years ago he could leave cars gased in storage for 3-4 years, now a days not longer than 3-4 months. Holding a piston that had been speared center by a push rod due to "guming". Cheap gas will not always be that, especially after running it a while or sitting idle. Treat that motor well or she will treat you back in a hard way, ways a way...
