Has anyone tried this brand for snells? How does it compare to Seaguar(sp)?

I used 30 lb P-line leader on a recent trip to Canada and landed Lake Trout over 40 lbs without a single failure. It seemed to be fairly abrasion resistant but did develop some roughness after trolling the rocks all day so I retied every morning with a fresh leader. I have not tried Seagar.

I've used both for leaders for Dipsys and Jets, and see very little diference. Both worked well.

I tried some in Canada this year. I was not very impressed. Used the 12# ultra thin and after a few rocks, it was ultra in-half. Lost some good fish and lures. I am not trying to knock it, but I felt my old mono could take more abuse than it, so I switched back. Can't say for sure, but I lost no more fish and and I never casted just to hear my line snap. Gotta stick with what works, and p-line wasn't it.

This is another example of people not fully understanding products and product lines. The Pline I'm tlking about is pure flourocarbon leader material sold in 25 meter spools for around 18 dollars. I never had recommended any of the reel fill part flourocarbon lines and I never will. Vanish and all the rest of them are not at all like the pure flourocarbon leader materials discussed here.

Jim,
good point. I was in Galyan's the other day and picked up a box of P-line flourocarbon line. After reading the fine print, It said it's actually a co-polymer line with a "100% flourocarbon coating". I'm pretty sure they make the 100% flourocarbon leader material as well, but you need to be careful.

Have used the 12lb floro and love the stuff when around structure. For me it takes a beating but stays strong. It also holds knots very well and costs about $7. Only negative is that it has a larger diameter than other lines. But hey, its invisible under water and .001 is not going to make much of a difference.
