Could someone please tell me the steps to doing this? I am sure there are some tricks that would help greatly. Thanks!!

I do not know all the particulars, but this will get you headed in the right direction..... DO NOT "T" off from the main fuel line, to the kicker. Something about a suction issue? You either need a 'fuel line' junction box(one line in, two lines out, w/a switch), or my Mr. Pike has a second fuel line option, right on the tank pick up tube. Just add a second hose barb, and hose line to the kicker, and you're in business. My personal opinion is the junction box idea is a pain in the rear. Hope this helps.

There are several options that folks on this board may or may not push or agree with.

1. A fuel line connector with a switch as mentioned before, so only 1 line is open at any time.

2. A "T" connector from your main fuel line with lines running to each motor. If you take this approach, make sure you run a seperate line with a primer bulb (pump which also includes a check valve so fuel can't be "sucked" from teh motor that isn't running).

3. Run your main fuel line to a fuel filter / water seperator that is designed for a 1 in - 2 out configuration. Again, make sure to have a primer bulb in each line.

4. On many boats there you can expose the tank and find a fitting for running a 2nd fuel line. In this case, you can run totally seperate lines to each motor.

Take your pick, I've seen them all work without problems.

Good luck

Hey GOS -- What year Mr. Pike do you have? I have a 2001, and am wondering if there is the second connection on the gas tank.

Don't do it. You'll suck air from the kicker and have a lean condition on the big motor. Lot's of people run it this way, and in my opinion are on borrowed time.

Look for another pickup on your tank - or add one,
or run it directly from your auxillary tank or,
get a water separator with two pickups, or
use a 3 gallon external tank for kicker use

trust me.
