I just got my pro mariner 5-5-5 for $89 now where in the boat do I put it?tanks.
It is pretty simple.
Put it above the potential worst case water line.
Put it where there is minimum vibration.
Put it where it can be gotten to.
Put it where it is not too much of a hassle to wire to the batteries.
Put it where there is a reasnable amount of ventilation.
Don't put it in the gas tank, or any place where a potential spark could cause an explosion and fire.
This basically , says, that probably the best place would be a high mount in a ventilated storage area some where in the back of the boat, to minimize pounding.
A lot of folks put them up in the bow, because they don't have any place else to put them, but it is up to you..
Keep them cool, keep them dry, keep them from being pounded to death on the water, keep the wiring nicely routed, to the batteries, and they will last a long time.
