I'm proud to announce the birth of my son and future fishing partner this past week.I've already bought him a rod & reel,life jacket and a fishing cap. My wife thinks I'm rushing him! :-)

Congrats!!! I got my third and last fishing buddy 5 months ago. I now have 3 sons and the 2 older boys had fishing rods before they could walk. It is never too early and I am excited for you.

May your son outfish you for many many years...at least may he thinks he outfishes you for many many years!!:)

I extend my congrats as well. I have a son that will be three in September and he already loves fishing. He holds an ice fishing rod in his hand when he's in our Jeep, associates a five gallon bucket with perch (from ice fishing), and loves to get behind the wheel of my boat or look into the livewell when I get home. I have to sneak out when I go fishing to avoid breaking his heart. If I play it right, I might have a future fishing partner as well.

Congratulations Team Eyecon!!!! Glad to hear Mom and Babe are doing fine!

I saw some old friends of mine this weekend while camping, and their four year old was casting a rubber worm into a channel and catching Bass!
This little one was setting the hook, reeling them in correctly (rod tip up, letting the fish take drag ...etc..) It was so cool to see him do this at such a young age! I see a fishing pro in the making. They said he is up at 5:30 and has the fishing pole in hand, and asking to go fishing before they even get out of bed!

His father couldn't be more proud. He knows he has a fishing partner for a long long time.

May your son grow to enjoy the sport we love so much too!
