I have a LMS 240 which was purchased last April. The software is version V1.2.0 and has a date of April 22, 2002.

Has anybody had the temp just blink 32.0? It never makes a solid temp reading?

Any ideas? I did unplug the unit in hopes of resetting it....seems to me to be a software problem.

Thanks!

I dont know for sure ,but i beleive you can go to unit sett up and go to calabrate the temp. I know for sure you can calabrate it just dont know if it will fix your problem. keep intouch if you cant find where you calabrate it i will find it for you

I looked for something like that last night but was able to locate it. I looked through all the menus with no luck. I plan on looking at the Lowrance website today and see if I can find any FAQs on this problem.

Let me know if you come up with anything.

Thanks!

is your temp probe plugged in?

I have had that happen on my X15 but it was related to not getting the signal from the temp sensor. Check all your cables and make sure they are plugged in appropriately. Mine was wired wrong.

I have checked everything. It worked fine last Saturday and now last night it went wacko.

Has anybody had software issues with this unit? I think the X15 runs the same OS.

I have had the temp disappear from the screen of my x51. It won't re-appear until it is turned off for about 30 mins. It did this about 5 times last year for no apparant reason. I have asked my dealer about this problem and they have never heard of it. It's a mystery. Good luck finding a solution.

I have the same problems on a new rig and the X-15 on it. I shut it off or take it back to the dealer for warranty and they can never find it. Last weekend it worked fine for 3 day's straight so I have no ideal.

i have the x-15 and that started doing that to me in the middle of our trip on wed. i tried shutting off then back on i didnt make a difference. all wires seemed to be tight in back of unit.i will try to recalibrate but why would it need that if it was working fine 2 minutes before. i dont want to do this as a daily ritual, shadowalker

I spoke with Lowrance yesterday and they told me to send in the unit. It is either a software glitch or the transducer went out. The transducer has both temp and sonar in it. They said they would check it and if it needed a transducer they would send it with it when they ship it back to me.

They say to check the new transducer in the water and if all is good take the old one out and replace it with the new one.

I bought the unit in April 2002 and they are going to honor the warranty. It is 13 months old and are sticking by their product.

They were not sure why it was doing this....there is no option to recalibrate the temp on that unit.

Hope that helps. Not sure who I spoke with. Should have gotten there name. They were helpful once we got on the same page...took a bit.

I had the same problem last weekend with my X15, it was fine on Saturday but showed 32 on Sunday, I tried the transducer on my bow mount LMS 240 and it didn't make any difference. Monday I called the service centre which I'm lucky enough to live a half hour from they said to bring it in which I did and they swapped out the unit on the spot no questions asked and they extended the warranty to a full twelve months then gave me a lesson on depthfinder settings while I was there to boot. Best customer service I've had from anyone in a long while!!
