Also, do you think this is a better unit than the garmin 240?

Traded in a 240 for an X85. Much better piece of equipment. Buy the x85 you will save time uninstalling the 240 when it dies plus when you use the x85 at night you will be so very happy you bought it. Now if only I could the ease of adjusting depth and sensitivity on a Pinpoint 7420 with the backlighting of an X85 then we all would be set f0r life.

I have used the X85 for a couple of years now and I love it. The only problem I have found is that I sometimes loose the bottom. I think and have been told that the problem isn't the unit but the angle of my transducer. I've tryed several times to adjust it. If anyone has any input on this problem, I would appreciate it. The X85 is a great unit when it's all said and done. The fasttrack mode is great when drifting or anchored.

Pretty strong words Eric, I have the exact opposite opinion. The only thing I find better about the X-85 is the light, and that doesn't make it worth 200 bones more. Get a 240, I pick up my 1/8 oz jig in 60ft of water....The 240 has the same resolution as the 85 and a bit more power...(:
