View Full Version : A use for old mixed outboard gas??
I have some (4-5 gallons) of old outboard gas from 1-3 years old. The gas station said I could get rid of it there. Is there another use for it?
I don't want to take a chance of having a rough or non starting motor.
From now on I will add Stabil.

Dump it into your gars gas tank, when it is nearly empty, and then fill it up.
I doubt that you will notice any difference.

i change my own oil...five vehicles....and get tons of old motor oil and use it for campfires....even tho there may be a few fumes...never seem to notice anything amiss......works really well and does not flare like gas would....some have said there could be toxins in the oil but i really doubt they could amount to much...i live near gary indiana...so who is counting?

I am an ER doctor--you wouldn't believe the number of people we see in the summer with burns from just this reason!

For many yers I have run unused mixed gas through the truck in small qnatities.... put a gallon or two into the truck tank when low and heading to gas station for a fill.... 50/1 of 2 gallons into 30 quickly becomes 750/1 and I doubt any harm to the truck...
It won't smoke or carbon up the engine?
What ratio? that is how many gallons of mixed to how many new?

Ditto. I run all old mixed gas through truck. Little at a time. Never a problem.

In smaller quantities it makes great weed killer - at a fraction of the cost of Roundup etc. 4+ gallons probly needs to go in the truck or car.
B4 I hear how bad it is for the environment - think about what is in your weed killer.

I know..........Roundup tastes soooo much better in my water than petroleum products. I'd take the Roundup in my well any day ! Heck yah throw a little Dursban in there too, while you still can - it's still "safe" for a few months yet.
Only a REAL moron from the REAL EPA would censor what I chose to do with an oz or two of gas each year and then just let me spread my fields (and runoff) or yard with whatever they deem "safe".
Our great lakes and rivers here in MI and OH are full of all kinds of "safe" stuff. Heck they even freeze now - some of them.
I'm sure it was some guy with a little spray bottle killing a dandelion that caused this. I'll try to remember this the next time I drive thru Michigan City, Flint, Saginaw, Detroit, or Midland etc etc.
Stop on over and get my gas - it's guys like me that ruined it.
And you'll notice I refrained from calling you an idiot ----- moron.
