Anyone know a taxidermist in northern Indiana or southern Michigan thats excellent and cheap? Caught a 30" walleye in canada last week. But the wife caught the hog was a 33" incher. Want to do a double mount with these two. Thanks for your help! Craig

An old saying may be appropiate at this time-

You usually get what you pay for. I am a taxidermist and
recommend that you go and look at the work of several taxidermists in your area. Look at the details and compare
the work. Are the throat, tail, and fin bases shrunken or are they repaired and natural looking? Is the paint job realistic and are the scales smooth and flat? Are the fins flexible and transparent? There are many excellent taxidermists, but some
are better at certain species than others. Check out several
taxidermists and then make your decision based on the quality
of the work and what you like the best. Remember that you will
look at this mount for years to come. It is better to be happy with the quality than it is to save a few bucks now and end up
with the mount in the garage or attic a year down the road.

Hi CJ,
I am a Master Taxidermist. I am excellent but I am not cheap.
There isn't to my knowledge anyone excellent that will be cheap. You only get what you pay for & believe me , we put our best efforts into our artistry. "If it doesn't look like it is ready to swim, fly or run it isn't finished"
Good fishin,

Driftr, I have been told a man in Wisconsin is said by many as the #1 in the state. Have seen his work and is quite good. He is quite reasonable. Only problem he's by St. Paul Minn. and I live here in South Bend. Send me your e-mail would like to see what you charge. Do you have a web sight? And where are you located? Thanks Craig

Pay the extra few dollars for expert work, I didnt and I got what I paid for. It is something you will have for a lifetime, if done properly. And something you will regret for a lifetime, if not done properly.

Hi CJ,
Look under taxidermists on the web. Then go to the NTA or State associations. There you will find someone close enough to you. Personally , I am not taking any additional work at this time. I am in the process of finishing what I have now. In the future I am switching over to all repo graphite fish replicas. At this time next year I will be advertisisng this. Thanks for your inquirey.
