i have an aqua view, but a friend of mine has a vista cam.
first off they are great for ice fishing inside a fish house.
second off, i have had my aqua view in the boat all year and
have not used it once.
if you anchor alot it would be fun to use in the summer, but so
far i have not.
there are a couple of different types with different lighting
and it would help to know which system of lighting it
uses.
bottom line....great great great for ice fishing. worth 375.00
as far a summer fishing goes, im not sold on em. maybe some
other posters have used them in the summer and will share
the info with you

Yeah, I own a Vista Cam and can tell you it is a pain in the butt to use in open water. I've yet to figure out some way of knowing where the camera is actually pointing. I agree with the other post that it is fine for ice fishing while inside a fish house, but beyond that it's just another toy messing up my space. I have not used mine since ice-out.
I have owned a Vista Cam for about 2 1/2 years. I use it year round - both summer and winter. In summer I find drifting slowly works best, fact I'm out of here in about 15 minutes to go fishing and viewing.

If you want summer usage get the catch cam or aquaview. I really like my catch cam since it mounts like a depth finder on a jonny ray mount. The vista cams I looked at look like they would be great in the fish house since they look like a TV in a box and are big. They have a good camera I think it is made by sony. Check out there web site and then make your decision based on what you plan to do with it.

Little Bow Mount,
I have a brand new Vista Cam still in the box. I will sell it for $350 if interested. Just e-mail me back.
Thanks,
