I am curious as to what others are running for a prop on the new HPDI's. I have a Ranger 620 DVS with the new 225 HPDI on it. Just wondering what others are running for a prop and kind of performance you are getting. I am going to be changing the prop that came with it, I am only getting 4900 RPM's. It is a 25 Pro Series. Any feedback is appreciated.

I have a 2000 620 DVS with a 2003 225 HPDI on the back. I Have the motor mounted as far up as possible on a 6 inch panther jack plate. I am running the 21 tempest plus that was on my mercury. I broke the motor in last weekend. It only has 3 hours on it right now. At the end of the time out. I was turning 5700 RPM's and running 57.2 MPH on the GPS. It is still getting extra oil until 5 hours, so I figure it will only get better. This was with full fuel and 50% of my stuff and 2 people.
I'm the guy asking about the O2 sensor. Do you know about ring-free? I found out about this well after my motor was broke in. The dealer had to send his tech to school on our motor and that is the first time any of us had heard about it. If the O2 sensor gets contaminated it'll affect your air fuel. Just thought I'd let you know BEFORE you take it out.

I have the same set-up and I am running a 23 pro series and have been happy with it.

Thanks, guys, that is what I was thinking of trying, the 23 Pro Series. Is everyone running Ring-Free? I just saw it in the owners manual the other day.

I have used Ring-free for the past 12 years or so. I find it hard to believe that Yamaha dealers do not know of Ring-free. I live in WI and the local dealer never heard of it.
I have had no problems with my Yamahas, great engines!

I have used Ring Free since replacing the head on my 150 Ficht in 1999. I have had no problems with the motor since. It's expensive, about $83.00 a gallon, but you don't have to use a lot of it (one ounce per 10-20 gallons). I'm not going to mess with success. I'll keep using it.
