I read this site every day and do not remember seeing any/many problems with Ranger boats. Just curious!
Thanks

There are very, very few problems with Ranger boats. I know of a guy who had a 619 vs and a screw came loose in the floor. He called the company and they sent him a brand new 621. No charge. They even let him keep the 619 and sent a new screw. Also any Ranger that is sold that comes with an Opti, they actually throw in a spare Opti "just in case".

Bean,
Is that tounge-in-cheek? Pretty funny!

Only real problem I have on my 621 is some careless work done by the carpet installers. This yellow adhesive material was sread out in a couple of large areas on my white fiberglass interior. It appeared they tried cleaning it with a cloth and just spread it around. Dealer got most of it out by buffing it with rubbing compound but it still doesn't look all that great. Also some of this stuff yellowed the carpet and this stuff dosen't come out. The boat is an awesome fishing machine. Handles the water great. Lots of storage. Now just have to learn how to catch fish.

Totally tounge-in-cheek. I sometimes can't hold back my smart axx comments - but I'm afraid that I gave this guy a pretty poor answer:
I run a 619 with a 200 Opti. The package is a 2001 and has been absolutely trouble free. You do pay slightly more for a Ranger (but it's not as much as some folks will argue) but it is 100% worth it. I've run boats from Skeeter and Lund in the past. Those were also wonderful boats. BUT, the Ranger is hands down superioe in my opinion in every category.

Mine works extremely well for me. I have a 1997 Ranger 681VS I purchased new in the very late fall of 1998. Never had a problem or a complaint. Not one. I dare say most Ranger owners have had the same experience. They has a reputation for being superlative boats because Rangers are.
You can believe that, or you can believe all Ranger owners are stupid, or have fallen for name-brand hype, or fixated on giving our money to boat dealers, or all delusional, incompetent consumers that don't want to report problems becuase we're ashamed of having spent so much on a mediocrity.
Your choice.
That said Ranger better keep building great fishing boats because if they don't they won't last long. There are a lot of very, very innovative companies making lots of fine boats to choose from. Keeps everybody on their toes. And that's good for all of us.

"They has a great reputation"? Gosh. Do I need to go fishing or what?

Great boat's. I've owned Crestliner, Lund & now Ranger. They all make a good a boat but the Ranger I've alway's thought was king. I now own a 2002 619 with full windshield, a Yamaha 200 V-Max and T-8 Kicker. I love it no doubt, it's the driest and best riding boat I've been in for that size, but there are always some things that could be improved on. Here's the list of things I see that they could improve on.
1. Carpet & glue like the post above, I have the same thing.
2. Windshield came loose on passanger side and now it will have to go to the body shop this fall for some small fiberglass repair. Nothing major just not really mounted corectly in the first place. Dealer will take care of. My dealer say's they come from Ranger mounted that way with no support below the screws in the fiberglass. I made a post on W/C and a few dealers responded on how they mount the windshields. Not that way so I don't know if I should blame the dealer or the Ranger on that one.
3. Winch on Ranger 4600 trailer is mounted a tad bit crooked and turned to the left when looking at directly and facing it. This will eat up your winch strap on the right hand side eventually. I've looked at a dozen 2002's & 2003's around here and they all are a little crooked. Must have a bad jig at the Ranger plant, take a look. Speaking about the winch strap, doesn't make much sense to put the saftey chain/strap off the same winch strap when the winch is chewing it up. I think all of the boat brands doing this should re-think that.
These are all small things that are easily corrected. The only real thing that Ranger should seriously look at is the winch being mounted crooked and how they lay their carpet. Other than that two thumbs up.

I have exactly the same Ranger as Ironguts and really like it. The only problem that I have noticed so far is the eating up of the winch strap. I will check to see if the winch is mounted incorrectly.
As I said, I was just curious to get feed-back from Ranger owners.
Thanks to all!

I own a 2002 620 and love it. Like the previous posts the only complaint I have is the winch strap.

Proud owner of a 90 day old 619 with 200 Opti and 9.9 merc. Great boat and great ride. No carpet issues. Winch strap is a pain. Also, have venturi air system and the plumbing from the factory was messed up for livewell and baitwell. All fixed now by dealer and running great. good luck wm.

I know, I think the detailing mist company & Windex stock value should be rising.
