What's everyone's preference on having a dual or single console on a lund 1800 or 1900 prov se model? Any advantages-disadvantages with having one or the other.

Eric, I've had single and dual consoles over the years and in my opinion the duals look better and keep your passenger more comfortable. I've got a 2025 now with duals and have plenty of room. However, the smaller the boat, the more moving around room you'll have with a single console, and that might make the boat more comfortable and fishable. Like any other decision, there are pros and cons. Go with the 1900 and get duals, unless you fish a lot by yourself.

Eric- I have a 1800 dual console, Love it! The small amount of space lost with the extra console, is more than made up for with more storeage;ie glovebox and inside the console itself. Another thing is Your passengers will be VERY gratefull! Good luck- Bob WC#253.

I had an 1800 and now 1900 with single. I like the room and do casting and small lake fishing in addition to the Erie stuff. I recently got a chance to fish out of the dual and what they say about storage has a lot of merit. If you get a single I think the add on later is around 500.
Other things to look at are the better hook up for a bow cover and bimini tops.
A lot depends on the type of fishing you do the most. I do like taking that seat out and having all the room. If I have a partner I tell them the famous line when running: Turn around.
If I ever move up to the 2025 I would look at the dual.

Having the passanger "turn around" doesnt do much in my book. My friend has one of these and by turning around I have no idea whats coming and when to brace myself from that big wave. I dont mind facing forward, the thing I dont care for is there isnt anything to grab onto except the handle and the edge of the seat. Im a big guy and am afraid Im going to topple over one of these days.

Actually I agree. Having come back last week from 20mi out at 55mph. I was glad for the dual console and the oh shoot handles. I also have a lund where three times the seats came out and am thankful none of the guys were hurt. Seems like we have that problme fixed.

I agree, the floor space taken up in an 1800 or larger is by far offset by the extra storage and protection from the elements.
