View Full Version : Grandt rods
Any info on Jim Grandt pro series rods.I know they have a lifetime replacement policy.Any feedback good or bad?
Got a 6'7" one piece spinning rod,6-10 lbs. rated line,American flags on wooden handle, rod is very beautiful.Have used it a little, alittle heavy at handle but it is a great jigging rod.No regrets buying it.In my opinion it has one of the best action blanks I've ever felt for jigging.

Pretty, ornate rods. Seem a little heavy in the hand and IMHO, the blank leaves something to be desired. If performance is a main objective, then shop and compare.

Jim makes some beautiful stuff. Until sposorship put a different brand of rods in my hand, I fished nothing but Grandt rods. He also makes some interesting fishing rods and fly rods. My best Jim Grandt rod is a 14' noodle rod for 2 - 4 pound test that was designed for salmon fishing. I almost wet my pants when I finally landed a 31 inch steel head on 4 pound test. The reel screemed for about 30 seconds when the fish first took off. What an unbelievable fight and the first steelhead that I had ever caught. When I broke the tip one day carrying it back to the truck, Jim replaced it no questions asked. Nice guy, hard working guy, makes nice stuff.
