I fish the Wisconsin river. I like to start trolling cranks over the 6'-10'depths where there are old stump fields. If there isn't any wood down there it doesn't seem to be as effective. Keep the speed below 1.5 mph and don't forget to have a plug knocker in the boat.

I have fished Kinzua on and off and have never did exceptionally well there. I don't care for it because to fish all of it requires Penna, N.Y. and Seneca Nations licenses. Top that off with enough timber and boulders to consume a tackle shops inentory of cranks, etc. not to mention boat props and lower units...anyhow
The NY end has produced well along the concrete retaining wall just south of the Rt 17 bridge. The state record fish came a little further south near the High Banks campground.
On the Penna. end I have taken fish in the backs of some of the larger bays.. Willow and Sugar. I would also do some exploring on the Kinzua Creek arm further south of there, I have not fished that area.

Depending on how early or late post-spawn you intend to fish you should try to stay close to areas that the fish spawned in. I would fish the reservation or the middle of the Kinzua arm. Although these fish are often on rocks, don't ignore the wood. Unfortunately Gilligan was right about hang-ups. I believe that you just have to fish slow and meticulously until you find a pattern and then recognize it. Post your results when you get back.
