I have a Crestliner 182 that weighs 1700#, 150 Merc @ 475#, three batteries, 39 gal aas tank(325#)and no more than 150# of gear. I have replaced both tires 2 months apart. They come apart like the old retreads. The company sent me a new one the first time and wanted the old tire sent to them UPS. I have not heard about this tire, it happened Friday. The tires are 205-75- 14's. They are rated 1780# @ 50 PSI load range C. Livewells are empty. They said it was probably road hazard or too low tire pressure. I check the pressure each trip and they stay at 45PSI. Tread wear is normal. Thanks for any info.

Tom, Are they bias belt tires or radials?
Most folks on this board prefer Goodyear Marathon radials. They are built for trailer service.
If there is nothing wrong with the trailer, pressure, etc - maybe you need to make a switch.

Tom,
Go out and remove both of those JUNK carlisle tires...I'll wait while you do it...........just kidding...(about waiting).....I have a Lund 1900 and I had the carlisles.....I blew 3 tires last season and then I switched to the goodyear marathons and I havn't had a problem since. I will NEVER put another carlisle tire under my boat. My boat is also very heavy....I should probably have a dual axle trailer....but since I went with the goodyears I have changed my mind.
good luck,

Tom, Captian Hook hit the nail on the head. I just bought my last Carlisle tire ever yesterday. I was driving through Northern Wisconsin and blew a 2 year old well kept Carlisle tire. I put a never used Carlisle spare on and on the way back it started shredding like an old re-tread. This tire was visually like new and not dry rotted prior to using it. I had to stop at Farm and Fleet in LaCrosse and guess what, all they had was Carlisle. I was suckered one more time because I had no choice, but I plan on going with the Goodyears next time around. You DO get what you pay for! Better luck!
