Heading to fish the inner bay the end of July. I read about people fishing around the spark plug-what am i looking for change in depth or what??? Will the shallow fish around hoyles and Quanicasse still be active?? Any other advice would be appreciated

If you are after some big waleye, Caseville to Port Austin would be your best bet then. Hit and miss then, but what you hit is usually in the 7-10# class.
For the Inner Bay, there are lots of good fish in the 2-7 range. Spark plug area is best early evening.

The inner bay near bouys 1 and 2 is a good place to start.
Use your electronics to locate the bait fish and start fishing.
Both meat and cranks will produce.

Contact Jim Dietrich at Hoyle's he will give you good imformation. The tot bite is just getting good. There has been some large fish caught in the outter bay. If you want eaters the area of the inner bay will be fine. Call or stop and see Jim. He also gives a fishing report on Mike Avery's Outdoor show on Sunday morning.(a.m. radio) You can get a fishing report on wnem.com/and its is not to bad. Just click on Saginaw Bay.
