1998 Evinrude 175 Ficht - Need info on updates

Hi -

My 175 blew #1 cylinder, is getting a rebuild now.

Issue is it was sold to me as "updated" and turns out it was not (old head, etc.) This was told to me by the owner and the Evinrude "Master Tech" who serviced it for 3+ years.

Anyone have any information about the timing of the updates for this motor, documentation of what was sent by Evinrude, etc?

Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm guessing I'll be in court over this one to try and recover the cost of the rebuild.

Tell them the whole story about being mis-represented and that you understand this is not an OMC/Bomb problem. Check with John from IL and/or Bill Grannis. They are both very knowlegable!
