the spirits were great motors. you still see many of them
around lake of the woods and they havent been made it years.
of course they are now called suzuki motors. if there was
any little problem with them at all is they didnt troll down
far enough. i had a 20 horse on a 14 foot lund and it went
pretty fast WOT, and it also went pretty fast at idle speed.
very reliable, the boat and motor are still around town and
still looking good for late 70s vintage stuff.

I owned a 1994 Suzuki 25 (3 cylinder). I loved it. It trolled great, it had alot of top end for a 25 (I had it on a 16 ft, Backtroller and could run around 27 mph) It was oil injected and used the oil very sparingly. What year is the one your looking at?

I had 1 on a 16ft crestliner.. I had problems w/it... Right after I got it I had something go wrong in the fuel system and the shop that I took it to could not get parts so he basically fabricated something to get it running. Think the guy that sold it to me knew this and that is why he got rid of it.. About a 1 1/2 later the ignition system went out and agian, shop said could not find parts... Said would be cheaper to skrap and get new motor then to fix.. With the problems of getting parts, I wouldn't ever buy one again.

My brother is still running a 25 horse spirt from the late 1970's on a small boat at his lake cabin. He has had no major trouble with it to speak of. I am surprised this little motor, after all these years, still runs as good as it does. He uses it for fishing and duck hunting and it has very dependable. I hunted from it last fall for a full week and it ran strong down to 20 above zero.
