I am looking for some new trolling rods could anyone advise me on the telescoping or two piece rods? I would just as soon use a one piece but with limited space in the rod locker I may have to consider one of these options. I prefer ST Croix but am open to any suggestions.
Thanks Guys

Bass Pro (walleye series) has telescoping trolling rods. They come in two different sizes. I have six and have had no problems with them. The prices is right around $50.

I have a 8 ft. telescopeing rod by gold coast called comander big water pack rod for the big water or costal travler. It is quite strong and scopes down to 15 inches. It is designed for a spin reel but I put a okuma 20x linecounter on it and boy does it look neet, instant dippsey rod in a pocket. It should be good owith a spin reel also. but have not tried it out yet. jim c
I have two of the 8'6 trolling which telescope down to around 7' and my partner has two 7'6 which sope down to around 6'.
We really love these rods. they have great action and the price is right. Got them on sale for $40. Normally $60.

I've got a couple of Berkley Roach Rods. Not sure of the model # but they are called Planer Board Rods. They telescope from about 6' or so to 7'10". They are a sweet trolling rod. I 9have paid anywhere from $55 to $70 for these rods.

I would definitely go with telescoping rods over 2 piece rods if you have the room. With 2 piece rods you have an extra piece to keep track of. You can take rubber bands to hold the two pieces together but is a hassle. I have several of the mentioned telescoping planner rods from Bass Pro and really like them.

I would also suggest the Bass pro line. St. Croix will run $90 each and Bass Pro is max at $50 with both good products.

2001 BPS Master Catalog page 106. Walleye Angler P/K Signature Series...I own 12 of the trolling rods and in my opinion they are superb.

Wow!! Thanks for the quick responses. I ordered two of the St Croix telescoping 8'ers. "I know" I could have saved a few bucks but all my other rods are St Croix and their warranty and service is worth a few extra bucks to me.
Thanks Again

I must be dense! Ido not see the word telescoping anywhere on page 106 BPS cat.I see trolling rods 12-120-633-00 with retractable butt section. Is that what you call "telescoping" I would call telescoping when one section slides inside anothet, over and over to make a very compack rod 1/5 or so of extended length but I may be wrong,I dont know.. jim c.

The butt is 15"long to the reel,26" over all length, and extends to 8 ft.
Yep,
"retractable butt section" ---those are the telescoping rods they are referring to. I am trying two of them out this season, so far they are a ggod value.
