A fella at local boat dealer said quicksilver and the evinrude TWC3 were made at same plant they just used different color die. Is he pulling my leg because they were out of the gallons of Evinrude or is he correct. What do you think, is it alright to use Quicksilver in a evinrude. Thanks for any advice guys and gals.

I can't answer the question as to whether or not they are the same but I can tell you that I ran Quicksilver in my 70hp and 9.9 Evinrudes for a number of years with no problems what so ever! If the oil meets, or exceeds, TCW3 standards there is no reason that you shouldn't use it. Yes, there are "other" additives that companies put in to make their product special and unique but the TCW3 is the meat of this sandwich.
