I have heard from MANY individuals about the possbility of both Honda and Yamaha releasing new 150HP 4 Strokes? Is this a line of bull or has anyone else heard the same? I know the manufacturers and delaers want to be tight lipped as this introduction MAY cause people to wait on that boat/motor decison till their arrival. Any thoughts, ideas, rumors, facts, or just pure speculation would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, latest Bass and Walleye boats magazine has shots of the 150 Yamaha 4-stroke in their article about the new 300hp Evinrude.

Don't know about the Honda, but they will follow suit as will (I would imagine) Suzuki.

Yamaha already has one out. I saw one in early June at Lake Kabetogama in northern MN.

I seen a picture of a Honda 150 Four Stroke. I believe that it too is an inline four with V-Tec. From the picture it looked like the Honda 225 Four Stroke. But smaller

Man...I hope so! Or I have been had :) Because...........
I have a dozen Yamaha F-150's on order and several pre-sold.

Seriously, Yamaha has them listed in their line up for 2004.

Just spoke with a Honda sales rep today regarding a motor for a 1700 Fisherman. He wasn't aware of a 150 Honda (I did ask) but he did say that Honda will have a 135 coming out to replace the 130. Apparently the new 135 is updated a fair bit and will perform quite a bit better than the 130, which he stated did not get the performance that they wanted from it.

Honda and Yamaha both have them. They will be out in late October. The Yammy pushes a 1775 Pro V at 50.3 gps. Nice motor. The Honda is a real nice motor. There was a head to head with a ram, opti, HDPI, & the Honda. The new Honda took all the catagories but hole shot.

When will the Mercury Version of the Yammi 150 be coming out? How do these motors compare to the 140 Johnson/Suzuki?

The yammy version will be out in Oct. I don't know if they'll sell it to merc or not. The Yammy 150 is stronger than the Suzuki 140. From what I saw, the Honda was the hottest of all.

A good sized dealer here in IN, was concerned how many he would be alloted as the Yamy are coming out. Not sure but could be a problem for this year but would expect them to catch up by next spring. This is only my .02 after checking with one dealer.
