Year of St.Croix pole

I just bought a St. Croix pole at Woods and Waters for $4. It has the old style line pully guide on the tip, as well as a wood handle. It looks pretty old, so i picked it up as a decoration for my future "Men's Den". It's a Criterion, 7'6" Model #1001 NW.
Anyone know about the year this pole was made?
