Isle Royale

[Malmo]

In a couple weeks I'll be heading to Isle Royale in search of Lake Trout. This being our first trip to the island I'm looking for any tips which might make our trip more enjoyable. i.e. locations, lures, depths, baits, presentations, topo maps, other species etc.

We'll be leaving from Grand Portage, MN and intend to spend 3 days fishing. Thanks in advance for any info.

Our intent is to fish Superior and return each day to Grand Portage (weather permitting). If we can't return to the mainland we will need to stay on the island, is camping equipment available for rent or do we need to bring it?
