Mounted one of these in the spring and with less than 8 hours trolling it cracked! I returned it and the new one that I was mailed came right out of the box cracked! Guess I try the Happy Troller next:-(

I had one for about a half a season. It too cracked by the fin. I planed out with the motor trimmed all the way down and thats all it took. I Would cut a 3 inch hole in the plate of any trolling plate to get some trust for steering. Steering is a pain with it down. I gave up and now use a drift sock to slow down when trolling. I hang it over the bow just far enough to get it to open. Steering is some what effected but not as bad as with the Hydra Troll.
