i hate to beat a dead horse or for that matter continue to press my issue here, but i am really in need of some solid input on these units........are these gonna be six of one, half dozen of the other?.........should price be the determining factor btween these units.......am i going to be just as satisfied with one over the other?.........trying to decide if a real expensive unit is needed for basically all shallow water fishing (20ft or less).........thanks guys
Personally, I think money in electronics is money well spent. If your serious about fishing. I am always willing to pay top dollar on this type of stuff. Most walleye fishing in general isn't done a whole lot deeper than what your talking. The depth and power of the unit isn't as critical as pixel values on the unit. The higher end units allow seperation between bottom and walleyes - this is key in my opinion. Of those you listed, I rank the x-15 top with Zercom 2nd. I have both. I am not at all impressed on Pinpoints graphs.. If your looking for a trolling motor - the pinpoint system is good. IF your looking for a standalone graph, either lowrance or zercom.... Try out the units at a store and you'll get a pretty good idea. The Zercom unit is pretty slick and very user friendly... The x-15 isn't as much, but it has the best resolution allowing you to see bottom the best.
