I'm thinking of getting a Lund for multi-species fishing on Lake St. Clair that's more seaworthy than a bass boat. I'd like to spend $20-25K tops. Any recommendations on which Lund would work best? I'd like aluminum because I trailer. Thanks in advance.

I am assuming in that $20-$25 that you want to spend includes motor and trailer??? Also, are you wanting to buy new?
I doubt you will get a new Baron, motor and trailer in that price range. I would consider a 1700 or 1800 Fisherman.

Unless you like to return it because of poor paint jobs (I did) consider Crestliner.

Another view.

They have the paint issue resolved.

Are you sure; a few guys I talked to on the Mississippi just south of Minneapolis still have boats to return for new paint jobs.

Dont despair, my friend.

You are coming up on the best buying season, in my opinion.

I bought a Crestliner at a fall boat show that was a holdover from the previous year. I saved $7000 on my boat because they didnt want to hang onto it through the winter. It ended up costing me $17100 and that was with a 15 4 stroke kicker.

And you mentioned Lk St Clair... I got it at the fall Metro Beach boat show.

Hi dan d.
If your looking for a used Lund Fisherman 20', and in excellent condition I might have what your looking for. Its a 2001 Lund Fisherman with a 74# minnkota maxxum on the bow, 150 opti. 9.9 4 stroke for trolling and many extras. The trailer is a tandem Trailmaster trailer with surge breaks and trailers very nicely. This boat has been garage kept since I bought it new. I live on Erie and it handles big water. For a complete list of extras you can go to classifieds, under boats, then Ohio, or call me at 419-627-8380.
Thanks Dan

Saw a brand new 2003 20' Lund Fisherman the other day with a 150 Merc, vinyl floor, trailer and covers for 24 almost 25K. Might be able to knock off another grand but you would be over budget by the time you get electronics, kicker etc.

The Fisherman is a hair deeper and hair wider than the Baron/Tyee but the Tyee has more "stuff" that is standard and what appears to be a slightly diff hull. Was only there a couple minutes - didnt take any notes !

Hi. I thought about a new tyee or baron. toooo much for my blood. I found a 2 year old 19 foot tyee EFI IO ITS with a trailermaster trailer. It had 52 hours on the clock, it is the signature model with a lot of extras for 20K. Its a great boat. I found it on one of those web sites that have 20,000 of everything to select from just enter your wants. It was not Iboats .com
