Jim,
I just returned from 4 days of fishing at Ft Peck. Walleyes were hitting fairly well, but I hear they are really turning on now. Smallmouths and pike were also hitting. For information on the H ll Creek area, contact Trapper John at his website www.ifishfortpeck.com He'll square you away on everything you asked about. Fort peck is a great fishery. I just wish I could get up there more often. It's a six and a half hour drive for me.
Check the fishing report for today in the Billings Gazette at www.billingsgazette.com, click on OUTDOOR, also for some good info. Get up there and rip some lips!!!

Try contacting the Missouri River Outpost
at Fort Peck, Montana..(406)-526-3231. Ask for Mike VanBuren.
and tell him what you are looking for, they were really great to us last year when I was there.

I bought some harnesses off eBay from a guy who fishes Fort Peck often. His e-mail address: FortPeck@aol.com what else? His name is Steve Hagen. He makes great harnesses with the most beautiful hand-tied snell knots, and will customize them to your preferences for little expense. He made me some harnesses for .85 each, and is working on some bottom bouncers to my specs for less than a buck apiece.

Steve e-mailed me and told me he would fish Fort Peck above anywhere else in the world! Drop him a line--I'm sure he would love to help you.

They have some maps of Fort Peck online at www.walleyesunlimited.com. Click on the "Waters" button. That will take you to the page.
