transducer?........what are the advatages and disadvantages of the single 20 degree cone and the dual frequency 20 and 50 degree?.....thanks

The dual-freq gives both freq's in one package. The only possible disadv of the dual-freq is that it's a large unit, the size of a big bertha driver. But with different cone angles you'll be able to swith to the narrow cone for deeper water and wider cone for shallow water--or both on a split screen. In this mode you can look at the different levels of detail that each shows and get two different views of the same structure.

I don't have the X15, but I had the dual-freq on my 350A and loved it. I say get it.

Unless I misunderstand it myself, I believe you are talking about 2 different things. The cone angle is indeed 20 degrees but the frequency is something entirely different. The dual frequency uses one transducer (about 20 degree I believe) but gives you the option of either 20 or 50 MHZ signal. The cone angle is the same. The frequency is the only thing that changes. The 200 is for salt water or deep freshwater where you really want to penetrate and the 200mhz is for most freshwater applications.

I would not reccommend purchasing the dual frequency x-ducer unless you fish the Great Lakes for Salmon anf Trout. The single transducer is a 20 degree crystal and the dual has a 12 degree for the narrow angle. The 20 degree cone will perform much better for you fishing freshwater species like Bass and Walleye. Lowrance was having quite a problem with the dual frequency and I'm not sure that's been resolved.
