I just mounted the new zercom 2000 graph and have a couple of questions. The graph works great, excellent contrast & bottom structure. However, I am having some problems setting the transom- mount transducer just right. I have it installed on a lund 1850 tyee, 18 inches away from the main motor, between 2 rows of rivets. Mounted according to instructions, facing straight down, 1/8 " below transom. I would lose depth at mid speed (20-25mph), so I angled the rear of the transducer down some, and lowered the it to about 1/4" below transom. The arches weren't as complete as before, and still losing bottom depth at higher speed. Should I lower it some more and not angle the transducer as much? I'm more concerned with keeping the depth readings at mid to high speeds, rather than having full arches due to angle placement, but having both would be great! The customer support wasn't much help with this, just said to mount according to manual.
Also, my speed/temp paddle wheel doesn't read until I reach speed above 5mph. It spins ok when loaded on the trailer. Will some silicone spray help this, or is there a better way?
Thanks for any help.

I bought the same unit and have the same problem. In fact I know 2 other people with the same problem 3 different boats the detail is great but we all lose the bottom at about 30 mph, not a good deal in a 60 mph boat. I'm going to go out and spend a day trying to tune it if I come up with anything I'll let you know. If not it's going back to the store.

Better take it back.....the chance of you gettin a good bottom reading with all the rivets on an aluminium boat with any transducer above 30 mph are slim. At 50 to 60....forget it. To much "unclean " water caused by rivets. If you get a good bottom above 40, please tell me how cause I never have.
