The 4th button on left edge says auto press that and a note with arrows comes up on right edge of the screen. Now use the arrow keys to highlight the mode you want. The arrow keys on right edge of the screen. I have always left mine on automatic and always works fine. Good luck

A good starting point would be....greyline @ 35 and sensitivity up until you see "pepper" on the screen and then back off a hair.
You will definitly see more detail (ie fish) in manual mode.
I have found for normal walleye depths 10-30 ft a sensitivity setting of 53% and a grey line of 10% works best. I don't know if those numbers are consistant from unit to unit. The best thing to do is get out in 30-40 ft of water on a calm day and vertical jig a 1/2 oz jig or spoon below the transducer and adjust the sensitivity until the lure is visible on the screen. This method gives me the confidence that I will see fish when they are present.
The downside of manual mode is that the LMS350 forces you to have the depth range in manual also. From my experience it is worth the tradeoff if you want to see fish.
Good Luck

am i going to have problems seeing arches in 6-10ft thats where im at 90% of the time am i only going to see a vertical line instead of a arch. thanks hooked
Sounds like you are reletively new to using sonar. A great place to start is at the Lowrance web site www.lowrance.com
There is a sonar tutorial there that you can read and print. It is simply an outstanding tool for anyone with questions about sonar.

The Lowrance Web site also has online docs for their graphs.
Keith Kavajez suggests setting the grayline on the 350A to 30%, and for sensitivity adjust it up until the screen gets dirty, then start bumping it down until you reach the desired clarity (clutter goes away but can still see as much detail as possible).
