I'm thinking about buying one of these prop savers for my kicker motor. This is the kind that is a flat stainless steel ring around the outside of the prop, not the river runner/ skeg guard type. They are supposed to keep your trolling lines from getting sucked into the prop. I am going to use it handlining in the Detroit river. Does anyone have one of these things and do they work?

I made my own.
But the Macs are very good. I use it for the exact same reason you want it for, plus its been nice knowing its there when you are trolling the big lake, too.
Wouldnt be without it.

Yep, I have one on my boat too. No complaints here...they work. Worth every penny.
