I am not familar with this technique. Where can I find out the particulars and or more specifics. Do you use crank baits or live bait? Thanks

There have been a few pretty good articles written about it. Check around this site on the pro-pages for more.
Most anglers use live bait or my favorite, try a Berkley Power Crawler. I ussualy like to put a few beads, and a spinner blade in front of the bait.
Crankbaits behind bottom bouncers is a very over looked tactic by a lot of anglers, but can produce big fish. Make sure you select a shallow diving crank to go behind the bouncer. Long slender cranks such as the ones made by reef runner work well.
Anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask!

You can use either live bait or cranks behind a bottom bouncer. 99% of the time, people will run some sort of spinner or floating rig or worm harness behind the bouncer, with anywhere from 2-8 feet of a leader. They can be made or bought commercially with blades beads and hooks already put together. For cranks, as suggested, a shallowdiver is a must.
I've also run floating jigs tipped with bait behind a bottom bouncer, with some success. Good luck.

a trick which has worked for me is to use my 12 ft noodle rods made for lake michigan salmon...they are whippy at the tip but have a solid heavy butt section so that they bend a lot at the tip but have enough backbone to get big fish...the 12 ft length allows me to bounce the spinner higher than a 6 ft rod and sometimes i really outproduce the others on my boat...using a worm rig ....i like the four-six foot leaders better than the short ones....steve

I use bottom bouncers in front of a crank bait. I fish a pier that helps protect a harbour that is a river mouth. I walk to the end of the pier and cast out downstream. I then walk upstream along the pier, keeping my crank just a bit above the bottom. This has caught me many big walleye. I too use a long Fenwick Blackhawk salmon rod. The longer sweep helps with control and hook set.
