Upon returning from a trip to Bemidji,I saw this boat for sale and was wondering if anyone out there has ran one?Curious how it trolls down with the 90 Merc and if the boat tracks and handles rough water well.Thanks.
Saggy, I ran an 1890 with a 90 Mariner. Very nice rig. Top end was high thirties, sat level, trolled well, had a decent ride. That boat still lives in Bemidji, in fact. The lead mechanic (Weberg, I think his name is) at Cochrans Marine in Walker could work magic on the 3 cylinder Mercs/Mariners. He "slow tuned" a 75 and a 90 for me to run between 475 and 500 rpm. With the 1890, I seldom used an electric for bait fishing. Most of the 90's idle around 800.
