I posted the new lines on net and then this question but it got lost in the never ending debate about my boat is better than yours.
So, I'll try again.
Does anyone know the details on the new 2004 having a 1" wider beam. Specifically, my 2001, 1900 has a 96" beam. The new ones show a 97" beam. Did they just add larger side molding? Is it a typo? Did they re-engineer the entire boat just to make the beam (only) wider?

The reason, I am asking is I am looking to maybe upgrade for next spring. I am pleased with my 1900 and if the boat is truly wider I may consider a new 1900, that also has the IPS2 from last year. If not I would lean toward the 2025 but that brings in more concern with bigger motor etc.

It would be great if anyone has had a chance to water test the new 1900 and could compare it to my 2001. The little bells and whistles are nice but the RIDE is my main concern.
Thanks for any help.
Joe

1900 Pro-V in 2001 the beam is listed at 94"
1900 Pro-V in 2004 the beam is listed at 95".

The 2004 boat is a tad different due to the new "cut-out" at the console area, which puts the control box, or boxes, out to the side a bit more. More seat swiveling room is the result.

The IPS 2 rides nice. (I had a 2003 1900 and have a 2004 model 2025 with IPS 2).

There is continuous engineering going on. They did re-engineer the gunnels for 2004 and evidently ended up gaining an inch in beam as a result. (or.... a different guy measured... LOL)

Take a look at a new one. Most dealers have some in stock.

Yep it is 95", there I go, wishing my 1900 was a 2025 again. Thanks for the input T-Mac. The beam or structure change and IPS 2 could be good excuse to change. I am waiting for them to come into my dealer and will check again. I wish he would get one in, in all vinyl, cause that could be my third reason to change.
I'm not a big motor guy but I still listen. I have a 115 Yam. After changing my fishing habits, I now wish I had the T-8 kicker. So I was thinking of the new 150 with the kicker for next boat, if I stay with 1900. If not then I am into an whole nother area with the 2025, for 11"longer and 2" wider, I think.
Thanks again
Joe

I just happen to have a new 2003 1900 "IFS" w/ IPS2 on an Eagle tandem with a Yamaha 150 HPDI sitting here..............for sale (of course). It's black/silver, has vinyl MAIN floor.

Close. But it has a 1" shorter beam lol. I have also become a 4 Stroker. Have you seen the vinyl on top also. One of the things mentioned in other post is that the vinyl does not seal the hatches as well. But I could see that if I went with the snap in carpet, that could be a pain around all the hatches on top.

T Mac,

Why does the 04 catalog show the black 1900 sitting on a trailer, with a 225? I got excited and thought they had increased the H.P. to match the 620's, since they essentially are the same size boat.

I priced a 2004, 1900 LE a couple of weeks ago and the sales rep said that you can put a 225 on it. Brochure and web site say 200 but the rep said you can go with a 225. I wanted a yami but not the 4 stroke so all you could get is 200hpdi or Opti.

No way

T-Mac could probably confirm it, the 1900 is still rated for a 200.

Did Lund put the cut-out in the 1800? I have a 99 and I've talked to the Lund reps at shows about the seat and windshield being off center. Did Lund correct this?

I will tell you about the ride of the new 1900 they are #*%+-in awesome. I had a 2000 1900 pro-v ifs and it was totaled in a boating accident in May while I was pre-fishing for a tournament. I order a new 1900 ifs and didn't know at the time when I ordered it it was close to the end of the year on the 2003's. Luckly I got a 2004 because a friend of mine who got a 1900 ifs also which only got his 21/2 weeks eariler got a 2003. I don't know if it's the strakes or if it's the taller transom height, but the ride isn't even comparable. If you order a 2004 make sure you order an extra suspension seat for the passengers seat. That is one inpressive seat. Most of the time I don't even use my air ride.

Strange...
On 1900 Pro V;
The 2003 is same as 2004, hull-wise.
25" transom on both.
Power strakes on both.
