Was on the water of Mille Lacs yesterday, a word of advice, if you have a head net put it in your storage locker, not at home where mine was. There was no wind, heat, and fierce gnats by the millions for most of the day, saw 2 boats wearing there nets and they could have sold them for just about any amount! Yes the fish were still biting. Also saw 8 dead walleyes floating, probably victims of release, with 78 degree water, maybe all releases should be at boatside and don't remove them from the water at all, from my experience 70 degree and above walleyes become quite fragile after being caught.

Dave I agree totally. I was out yesterday and that was the worst bug experience ever! Also saw a couple catch a nice fish and then took a picture with her holding it along with a video camera shot and then some pictures with him holding it prior to dropping it head first in the bottom of the boat and then tossing it overboard with no attempt at reviving the fish. They saw that their fish was belly up and shouted to another boat "another one for the Indians". Nice job idiots! Take a little time learning how to play, handle and release fish people otherwise releasing doesn't do a lot of good. Walleyes were hot again as usual. Tough to get that 30" but fun getting close!

None other than the esteemed Al Lindner will hold a fish before the camera while he talks about how you, too, can catch them, tilts his cap back, removes his sun glasses, waxes eloquent, then seems to realize he's holding a live fish in need of return to water. After too much film, the fish goes back in. If Al can do it each week on camera, why are we surprised someone on Mille Lacs does the same.
A fish should not be kept out of the water any longer than you can hold your breath. Try it next time.
