I love to read the posts on this site (whether I agree with them or not) but I am really turned off by posts that are written in all caps. All message in CAPS on the Internet is considered shouting and in generally poor taste. Could we please consider others eyes when we write and NOT use the caps lock key.
My eyes say thanks,
Bob

This was discussed last night in the chat room and
one of our cleverer regulars referred to it as proper netiquette. (They totally lost me... I thought they were talking about the proper way to net a fish or something.)
And Bob I don't think you're grouchy, I think YOU
ARE A SWEETHEART.... Oops... Sorry ;-)

LAST EDITED ON Apr-26-00 AT 02:35PM (CST)[p]Hey all,

While we are at it, how about proper grammar, and spelling, in general? I have read many posts that are otherwise excellent ideas or responses, but loose their impact due to bad spelling, grammar or etiquette.

I am very guilty of adding extra letters that shouldn't be there, due to my two fisted typing style! ;-) Actually, for me, a spell checker would be nice.

Either way, I try to look through the shouting and grammar to find out the intent, or idea of the post.

Good luck......R

P.S. I had to edit this post due to, initially, spelling the word guilty with a q, not a g.

And you missed the fact that is should be "lose their impact" not "loose their impact", etc. etc. etc.
:-) you're on candid gramera.

Hey Ufda,

You got me! But I look at it this way, If you give a chimp a gun, and the chimp shoots someone, do you then blame the chimp? LOL!:-)

Thanks for the heads up.......R

LAST EDITED ON Apr-26-00 AT 03:25PM (CST)[p]Really not uptight Jim, but I do like to read all the posts I have time for and since my eyesight is not quite as good as it once was, the all cap ones are tough.
BOB ;-)

remove the cap lock key? Where thre heck is it?As far as a spell cheeker is concerned, well it may be a good idea, but still its not to hard to get the drift of what someone is trying to convey.Grammer on the other hand would be a turn off for some folks, me icluded. What should be banned is vile language, and name calling. Thats not bad grammer, thats just total ignorance. Our local board has that problem, but its mostly juvinile delinquents[regardless of the age].
